Division 5: Canning

All entries must be canned in a Ball, Kerr, or Mason jar, in ½ pint, pint or quart canning jars and properly sealed. Jams, jellies and butters may be in a Ball, Kerr, or Mason jelly jar.

This category will be judged in two groups: Adult and Combined youth (up to age 17).

Class 1: Vegetables and tomatoes

Lot 1: Green beans

Lot 2: Dried beans

Lot 3: Miscellaneous beans

Lot 4: Soup mixture

Lot 5: Peas

Lot 6: Corn

Lot 7: Tomatoes, whole

Lot 8: Tomatoes, quartered or sliced

Lot 9: Tomato juice

Lot10: Vegetable mixes, not pickled

Lot 11: Miscellaneous Vegetables

Class 2:Pickles and Relishes

Lot 1: Cucumber pickles, whole and sweet

Lot 2: Cucumber pickles, whole, dill

Lot 3: Cucumber pickles, sliced and sweet

Lot 4: Cucumber pickles, sliced, dill

Lot 5: Green Tomatoes, pickled

Lot 6: Pickled Okra

Lot 7: Beets, pickled

Lot 8: Chow-Chow

Lot 9: Salsa

Lot 10: Corn relish

Lot 11: Pepper relish

Lot 12: Hot peppers

Lot 13: Pickled Squash

Lot 14: Miscellaneous pickles

Lot 15: Miscellaneous relish

Class 3: Fruit

Lot 1: Apples

Lot 2: Applesauce

Lot 3: Peaches

Lot 4: Pears

Lot 5: Miscellaneous fruit

Class 4: Jellies

Class 6: Butters (Soft spreads)

Class 7: Miscellaneous canned entry

Any canned item that does not fit in any of the above categories.
